My big preschool girl

Tuesday, August 31, 2010
Today was an exciting day for Brooke, she started preschool! She's in the exact same classrom that Sydney was in at age 3, it's so cool.

It was a busy morning, starting with lots of posing for home, in the tree, outside the gate, and outside of her classroom. She was quite the trooper!

Just one more close one before we go in :)

She walked right into her classroom, and sat right down on the carpet when her teacher asked her to.

Then, it was time to line up to go out and play!

She ran right out and hopped on the bouncy thingy.

And then, of course, right up the ladder thing that makes Mommy nervous :/

Last night I was peeking at some of the pictures from Sydney's first day at preschool, it is fun to look back. Of course, I wish I was better at taking them back then, but we can't change that now!

Such style & form...

Deer in the yard

One of the coolest parts about where Eva lives...the deer just hang out in the yards! We were headed out for lunch the other day, backing out of the driveway when we came upon these 5 cute friends. The girls just love it.

I love it when I catch my girls together

When they cooperate, and smile, it makes my day. Here they are in front of the beautiful Mt. Shasta...still with snow even. They're having so much fun up at Auntie Eva's...waking up to deer in the yard, riding bikes around the lake, and playing with their buddies.

Age 3 to 93

Friday, August 20, 2010
My 3 and 7 year old girls got to visit with their 93 year old Great Grandma today. Brooke was just 3 months old last time we saw her. It's amazing to see my little 3 year old, just starting her life, with my Grandmother, who has experienced so much throughout her 93 years. She's still amazing, goes walking every day, and you'd never guess she's 93. I'm so glad we got to see her, even if only for a quick visit!

The story of us :)

Monday, August 16, 2010
Last week Jason and I celebrated our 10 year wedding! I guess we're getting old! I have had this idea since last year to go photograph some of the locations where important events in our lives took place, and never had the time or energy to implement it. But, last Wednesday my sister joined me, along with our 4 kiddos, and we went on an adventure! It was actually a ton of fun! So, here's our story, complete with pictures :).

We met at a bar downtown, during happy hour. It was called Moose's when we met, but now it's just Fred's Taco Shop. The place still looks the same though, and Fred's was part of Moose's then, so the picture is still perfect :).

We dated for a couple years, even with him away on Westpac for 6 months, and then he proposed at a cute little park near where we lived at the time.

We got married at a gorgeous hotel in Coronado, here was our ceremony spot. The kids had the best time here, we had a little picnic, overlooking the water. Sydney asked if we could buy the place, too bad we can't!

And then, three years after we got married, here is where I gave birth to our first baby girl! 4 years later, the second was born at the same place.

And, finally, here are those two special girls, posing for me just outside where they were born!

So, that is our story, so far. I hope to do something nice with the photos some day soon. I had to do a real quick editing and printing job to make it in time for our anniversary, so when I have time I will probably spruce them up a bit, and make some nice prints for our house.

Poppin' Bubbles

Monday, August 9, 2010
Brooke got a cool bubble wand for her Birthday. It came with special 3-D glasses that make butterflies appear on the bubbles! But, it also makes super cool giant bubbles, and the girls had so much fun chasing them. I had fun seeing how cool bubbles turn out in photographs! Check out all the detail in the bubble - you can see the neighbors houses, and a reverse image of them!

Here's a close-up of the bubble, in case you're interested:

Learning to Jump Rope

Sunday, August 8, 2010
She has mastered the hula hoop, so we're moving on to the jump rope. Daddy cut her a personalized Sydney-sized rope, and she went at it. She's up to two loops in a's qutie amusing to watch, but I bet she'll have it down in no time!

Don't forget the 7 year old

Friday, August 6, 2010
She wanted a picture taken too, of course. Here she is waiting for her ride to camp, reminding us that she's 7 now!

She's a big kid, just like Sydney!

In Brooke's mind, she is officially big, now that she's 3. No more babies in this house :)

She's the best big sister

Thursday, August 5, 2010
I'm still catching up and sorting out some photos from Sydney's last week of school. I came across the pictures from her end of year party, and I just love seeing how much Sydney loves her sister. She takes such good care of her.

Here they are during the reptile show. Sydney HAD to have Brooke sit with the 1st graders, and I just love how they are cuddling. (I also love how her great buddy Esha is cuddling on the other side):

After the reptile show it was time for snack...and of course, Sydney made sure Brooke ate too:

Last but not least, the bubble show! Once again my sweet Sydney paid more attention to her sister, and showing her everything than she did to the show itself!

One last funny shot, at the end of the reptile show, the kids got to touch the snake. If you look real close you can see that Sydney is holding Brooke's hand to help her touch the reality she was terrified of touching it herself :). Brooke was all over it though.

Whew, I think I'm finally caught up! Yay! I guess it's time to take more pictures!!
