Lots of pumpkin patch pics!

Thursday, October 28, 2010
Today our Girl Scout troop went to the Pinery pumpkin patch. The leader said the kids could wear costumes, but only my girls and Grace actually did. Brooke (well, maybe Mommy) was all cow-girled out, so we went for Ariel to change things up.

The adventure started with yummy gooey bright green cupcakes!

Brooke and Syra had a lot of fun checking out the goats,

and climbing and throwing hay :/

The kids thought this goat was coming to give kisses, but he was really after Sydney's antlers :)

We all got to do a corn maze. Syd took off with her friends, and Brooke and I, well, we got lost :(. Brooke was running and screaming "big kids, wait for us!", but they got completely out of the maze and we ended up going back to the beginning. So sad. I guess that's what I get for making her stop to try to get a cool picture.

After the corn maze it was time for a hay ride. Here's the whole gang, minus just one girl (and a few extra siblings, of course):

Then it was time for pumpkins! Sydney found the perfect one...

Brooke thought this one was about her right size...

But that poor little guy got dropped when she decided she was super strong enough to get this one:

We had to give the cute scarecrow a little love...

And, pose for another picture together:

And then, change our mind just ONE more time until we find the perfect lil punkin...

He is her new best buddy, snuggled up tight in her room right next to her bed. Awww.

Parading About

Today was the preschool costume parade, it is just so darn cute to see a ton of preschoolers parading around in their costume. Here's a shot of Brooke, leading a few class mates. The three firemen are the triplets in her class. She talks about those triplets a lot.

Getting use out of our costume!

Today was costume event number 3...dance class! We have 4 more costume events coming up this week, not including Halloween...whew, I hope the outfit lasts!

Here's Brooke with two of her best buds, the candy corn and lady bug :)

And here she is counting out her steps in front of the class:

Trying oh so hard to get those toes to the head:

And, toe hopping across the room (while trying very hard not to lose the hat!):

All in all, WAY too much cuteness in one room today!

We owe Karin some pictures!

Karin made the girls and me a bunch of snazzy headbands, and I said we'd take pictures of them for her in exchange. Only problem is that every time we get a few minutes to take some pictures my girls are all messy and their hair is a frazzly mess. The other morning Sydney woke up early on a school day, so I figured she could shower and be fresh for a couple photos before she headed off. We got her hair all pretty, and came downstairs to discover more RAIN! There was no going outside for pictures that morning. We did grab one inside though:

We will get some nice outdoor ones soon, Miss Karin!

I present to you...

An exclusive private showing of artwork by the one and only, the adorable, Brooke Griffin...

Hee hee! Preschool brings lots, and lots, and LOTS of artwork. Every so often there is a masterpiece that must be saved, but for the most part it is a lot of adorable trash that I feel so guilty throwing away. But I have a new solution - monthly photos! This way I can throw them away in peace, knowing that I have a memory to save.

September brought us circles, the color red, a random pom pom pie, and a portrait of Mommy of course :).

Tooth #7 bites the dust...

(Man she's dirty when she gets home from school!)

For Auntie Karin

She has requested more, more, more pictures! And, she is not interested in wedding nonsense ;). Plus, she secretly wants to come hula hoop with my girls. So, this one is for her!

Gettin' down

Tuesday, October 12, 2010
I wanted the title of my post to be boogie-ing...but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to spell that...boogie'in...? Hmm! So, "Gettin' down" it is :).

One of my girls' favorite things to do is to turn on the music and dance, dance, dance! Sydney likes to put on "shows", which I find fun because I used to love to create special shows with my sister when we were little. Brooke doesn't always go along with the plan, but they do enjoy dancing together on a regular basis!

Don't you love their form? Sydney is a hilarious dancer right now, she gets so serious and tries to display the attitude to fit the song. I will have to get a video up here some day soon!

One of my favorites

I had fun photographing a wedding with Tricia yesterday. I have way too many photos to sort through, but this one stands out as a favorite so far. We were walking down to a photo spot when I noticed the hot air balloons in the air. I had to catch the couple with them for a fun shot.

She wasn't so sure about this...

She was all for the sign decorating, and was thrilled to hold it out by the big road. But, when all those strangers started coming by and cheering and waving at her she lost her excitement. Especially since none of those strange & scary people were her Daddy that she was waiting so anxiously to see. But, once we saw Daddy in the distance she jumped right back into it, and it made her Daddy and Aunt Kathie's day to see the sweet little girls cheering for them.

A rare sight in San Diego

We had an interesting storm come through our town yesterday...lots of thunder & lighting. And, just as we were about to get ready for bed, Sydney looked out her window and saw the biggest, brightest rainbow. By the time we got outside it had faded quite a bit, but we managed to sneak just one picture.
