Introducing Archie & Sage

I introduce to you Archie, he is an artichoke plant:



And, this is Sage, and well, she is a Sage plant :)



I have taken on a crazy project in order to help educate my daughter's Girl Scout troop next week. It is crazy, insane, so darn silly to think I'm going to pull this off, but I am going to give it a shot. We are learning about plants, and how they get their nutrients, and so the goal is to bring in a plant (or two, just because I know I'm going to fail at this) that is somewhat wilted, and demonstrate to the girls how giving it some water brings it back to life. So I went to Walter Anderson's, and told this nice man my plan. He gave me quite the interesting look, but guided me to lovely Archie and Sage, because apparently they are very tolerant to this type of stress, and tend to recover quickly. So, I have one week to master the art of getting them wilty without killing them, yet timing it just so that they don't die by next week, but stay wilty. Not one plant that has come into my house has managed to survive, I am hoping these sweet little guys can make it through my torture.
