Our next door neighbor works at the Naasco ship building company, and has invited us a few times to go watch one of the ship launches. Yesterday he invited us again, and told us it was the last one for the next five years, so we decided we should go check it out. We brought my Dad along, figuring he would enjoy it, and we were correct!
This was the USNS Cesar Chavez. The Chavez family was there, along with many other important people. We listened to the ceremony for the first hour, and then the ship was let out into the Bay. That was very cool to watch, along with the fireworks, music, etc.
Sydney was jumping up and down when the Syd started moving, it was really exciting.
Here are the girls with the ship in the background.
And the Papa, he was really cute, super excited about the boat launch. We got a video of it going out, once I get that loaded up to YouTube I will share it.
Thanks, Mike, for getting us in the special Naasco platform seating!
