Last week right after I said to Sydney, "You're not wearing the right shoes to be doing that," she decided that I didn't know what I was talking about, and climbed up a hill filled with brush, prickly ground cover, and trees. She came out with a big splinter. I tried to remove the splinter so we could go onto our next play date, but she yelped and screamed, so I had to quit.
Jason came home that night and again tried to remove the splinter, also failed due to her yelping and screaming. The neighbor even gave it a shot, but realized pretty quickly that Syd is not a great patient!
Finally, on the evening of day two having a splinter that was now red and super sore, she let Daddy give it another shot. To distract herself she used the iPad to research splinter removal, and documented the process. Here are her tips:
